Holmatro strongly believes in the power of innovation. Throughout the years we have been at the forefront of technological developments in the field of hydraulic rescue equipment. Continuous market research and in-house research & development have led to many revolutionary innovations. These new Holmatro products and technologies have helped rescuers all over the world to do their demanding jobs in a quicker, safer and easier way.

Some of Holmatro’s past innovations:

1975:


First manufacturer to introduce hydraulic rescue tools operating on a pressure higher than 500 bar, enabling a more compact and lightweight tool design.

1977:


First manufacturer with dead man’s handle on rescue tools for safer operations.

1983:


First lightweight spreaders, less than 19 kg which are easier to handle and carry.

1984:


First rams with twin plungers. These rams create a larger spread without running the risk of bending the plunger.

1985:


First lightweight combitools which are easier to handle and carry.

1986:


First lightweight (<13 kg) cutter with a relatively large blade opening (125 mm) and more cutting power.

1990:


First twin-plunger ram that pushes 16-ton.

1993:

Introduction of the Holmatro Personal Power® concept for improved ergonomics: one man, one pump, one tool.

1994:


First low-noise pump based on the Personal Power® concept.

1998:


First hydraulic cutter in the high-performance H-category (EN 13204) anticipating on new developments in the automobile industry.

1999:


First automatic locking hydraulic coupler for safer operations.

First hydraulic shoring struts allowing a combination of shoring and lifting: Holmatro PowerShore.

2000:


First extremely low-weight (15.5 kg) pump based on the Personal Power® concept.

2002:


First cutters with New Car Technology blades (NCT™), specially designed to cut hard materials and reinforced constructions of modern cars.

First cordless, compact and low-weight battery-operated rescue tools (< 15 kg inc. battery), with a high-performance. These self-contained tools without pumps or hoses are ideal for use in confined spaces and difficult to reach areas.

2003:


First duo pump with a ready-for-use weight below 25, portable by one man.
